Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food
Make a call, make a difference!
In February, 2012 the United States Department of Agriculture launched its new tool, the Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food Compass. The Compass is an amazing informational resource for navigating USDA programs that support local and regional food systems.
The Compass project is an excellent to way to help ensure that healthy, affordable food is made available and accessible to everyone. The website is packed with useful information on why local and regional food systems support the nation’s health, economy and wellbeing.
Take Action!
1. Visit the Compass website to learn about the local and regional food projects USDA is supporting in your state.
2. Tell your members of Congress that you would like them to finish a Farm Bill in 2012 that continues support for these programs.
Call Today!
Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121, give them your member’s name and they will connect you directly. You can also find your Senators’ and Representative’s name and direct numbers by going to Congress.org and typing in your zip code.
Let Your Voice Be Heard!
